Joint Press Conference of RoA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Communication of Italy Paolo Romani

On January 27, 2009 the Press Conference of RoA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Communication of Italy Paolo Romani took place at the Government’s Press Center.

Issues related to IT and digitalization, as well as arrangements and agreements on further cooperation were the main topics for discussion during the Press Conference.

N. Yeritsyan emphasized, that Armenia is interested in the European experience on digitalization. Following this idea, the Armenian party addressed all the European countries and the first reply was from Italy.

“Italy, as a country with the best experience in Europe, has perfectly arranged the balance of both social and technological combinations during the period of transition. In this context the advisory assistance provided by the Italian experts are extremely valuable. Convenient facilities for the citizens of Armenia - is the main goal we strive to achieve,”- stressed Nerses Yeritsyan.

According to Mr. Romani, Italy with the 56 million of population and sufficient experience in this field could provide effective assistance to overtake the transition period in Armenia as smooth as it is possible.

“This is the technological revolution, which is to be done. The Europe will finish the transition till 2012; USA has already done it last year. China, Brazil and Japan are in the process of transition now. Obviously Armenia can’t t stand away of it,” – assured Paolo Romani.
