On April 16, the Minister of Trade and Economic Development Nerses Yeritsyan accepted the President of Posteurope Bernard Damiens and the General Secretary Ingemar Person. Hans Boon, the director of Haypost was also present at the meetingՀանդիպման

The opportunities of strategic program development and cooperation with European post system were discussed at the meeting.

The visitors represented main goals of Posteurope, which are the optimization of post service’s operations and promotion of cooperation between member – countries of the Association of European state post operators.

The representatives of Posteurope informed Mr. Minister that they have already been in almost all post offices in Yerevan and regions and familiarized with their activity and existing problems. They also expressed hope, that even with existing issues in this field it is possible to achieve their solution and liquidation, step by step in a short period of time. In order to achieve this and to make work activities more productive, the participants underlined the necessity of training programs organization, promotion of professional managers, the experience exchange and activation of cooperation between the member- countries of the Association.

The parties were unanimous that everything must be done to improve the quality of post services and to satisfy the customers. We can achieve this by using the European experience, developing of complex work activities and implementing the promises in reality. The representatives expressed willingness to sponsor and promote this sphere.

Nerses Yeritsyan presented his visions of development in this field and mentioned, that by his opinion, it is necessary to develop the governmental strategy or program which will embraces all topical problems and, guided by that program, begin to develop the reforms. Mr. Minister assured that Armenia is ready for changes and underlined that the possibilities of investments, assistance and experience of Posteurope are really valuable for us.

At the end of the meeting Nerses Yeritsyan thanked participants for the visit and expressed hope that the reforms in this sphere will provide appreciable results.
