On May 16, the meeting of the Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan with the delegation headed by the State Department Coordinator Tom Adams took place in the Ministry of Economy.

At the meeting the Minister presented priority directions of the Armenian governmental program, basically 5 national-wide projects called for an establishment of Centers of Excellency in the region. These are:
- the establishment of the center of Excellency of business environment
- educational center
- center of public health services
- center of tourism
- financial center
Mr. Minister assured visitors that there will be implemented all the possibilities for realization of these ambitious programs.
Nerses Yeritsyan informed members of the delegation on the reforms spent in customs service, emphasizing, that a following target will be tax service.
"With a purpose of acceleration of reforming process, we first of all should change mentality of people, and begin this process with ourselves ", - declared the Minister.

Considering, that the programs implementing with the "Millennium Challenges" fund's support, basically are directed on reduction of poverty and overcoming of disproportional development between capital and regions of the country, Minister also presented to visitors already spent and planned reforms in the spheres of IT, tourism and agriculture.
As an example N.Yeritsyan resulted construction of techno-park in the city of Gyumri, subsidizing of agriculture, and also, with a view of development of tourism in the region, promotion of light industry branches, jewelers' art and crafts.

Coordinator of the US State Department Tom Adams, pointing Georgia as an example, noted, that they expect changes in customs sphere from Armenia also. He approved carried out reforms, specified, that macroeconomic parameters of Armenia are impressive and did not degrade for the last period of time. Tom Adams expressed hope, that the government of Armenia will manage to finish safely the begun process of reforms.
