On April 14, a meeting on the light industry development problems, with initiation of the Minister Nerses Yeritsyan took place in the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development

During the meeting Mr. Minister represented his visions of development in this sphere. Emphasizing, that Armenia can not always stay as a country cheap manpower, N. Yeritsyan underlined the importance of the implementation of the high technologies in light industry : " It is necessary to think about presenting our values in new markets" ,- said Mr. Minister to the participants.

In the development of light industry Mr. Minister focused his attention on the modelling business, saying that the future should be built on the complex powers of the light industry and faction business. The participants were unanimous that, the modelling business is one of the beneficial businesses in the world, but not in Armenia.

Gema Hakobyan, the deputy director of " Atex" faction house underlined that there are quite interesting presentations, opinions and ideas in their centre, but because of territorial, financial and other problems they can not be developed.

The director of the "Yerevan light industry college" Sergey Kocharyan underlined the necessity of preparation of marketing and management's professional specialists . He said that even though there graduates are professional disinters , lots of companies prefer specialists from other places. In this case the state support and cooperation with private companies are very important. According to the words of director of Open Join Stock Company "Lux" Gagik Bostanjyan the basis of light industry development are domestic and foreign markets. By his words, the domestic market is already lost for us , because it is washed up by Chinese and Turkish goods and products. What about external market, it is not beneficial also, because we don't have any advantage in export.

The director of company "Bazum" Yuri Mikaelyan, underlining the negative influence of dram rate increase on this sphere, suggested to gain an agreement with any country on importing the row material and manufacturing of products, because we don't have a textile industry in Armenia and the raw material is imported mostly from other countries.

The participants mentioned many other problems also, in particular the transparency of custom and tax services, defence of the domestic market, development of business environment, provision of equal competitive fields etc.

Minister N.Yeritsyan underlined the absence of specific business development model in Armenia, saying that first of all it is necessary to understand the prospects of any business form the main directions, calculate the requirements of the investments and benefits, and only after that begin to implement that business. " Companies should find and represent to state existing problems, and through state salve their problems, it can be an intergovernmental financial assistance etc"- said the Minister.

At the end of the meeting the participants suggested to meet frequently, because this is an opportunity to present problems and with the complex efforts find reasonable solutions.
