On 9 October 2026, the European Union published Regulation (EU) 2026/2269 of the European Parliament and of the Council on temporary trade liberalisation measures applicable to certain products originating in the Republic of Armenia, which entered into force on 10 October 2026.
Regulation (EU) 2026/2269 establishes temporary trade preferences for certain products originating in Armenia for a period of two years, until October 11, 2028.
The Regulation includes two Annexes:
These preferences do not entail the elimination of all customs duties or the removal of all import requirements. For each product, it is necessary to verify the relevant EU Combined Nomenclature (CN)/Harmonized System (HS) code, the applicable Annex, the rules of origin and the document certifying the origin of the product. This information can be checked through the EU Access2Markets portal: https://trade.ec.europa.eu/access-to-markets/en/my-trade-assistant.
The preferences apply to products originating in Armenia that meet the relevant requirements. To benefit from these preferences, exporters must also comply with the applicable rules and documentary requirements for proving the origin of the products.
